You want MORE sequels?
Discuss the concept of there being a Pirates 5 (or, heaven forbid, even 6). Rumors are floating around about it; some say it's true, and some say it's not.
Of course, I groaned when there was a fourth movie announced before I had even watched the first three, which said something. Even though my full judgement on OST will have to wait until I've actually watched it through with good quality (and not a crappy version I found online...), I'll have to say that unless the writers put a little more thought into the story and characters, not to mention plot advancement, the Pirates series is going to get redundant after a while. In a way, it's like the Warriors seriesspeaking of which, I'm still not sure how fanfiction managed to cross them over... - when you thought the first series was done, another series started, and when you thought THAT one was done, yet another series started and when THAT one was done, there's a series of graphic novels now, and it went on until you eventually stopped reading them out of boredom. It's the same with Pirates, only they're a bit more tolerable since there's a few years in between movies. It's gotten to the point where I'm kind of tired of Jack Sparrow (and that's not just because I play Beckett!) just because... well, if the rumors are true and there are going to be a bazillion more Pirates sequels, then I am eventually going to facepalm every time Jack Sparrow appears on the screen. You can always have too much of a good thing.
Unless, of course, they bring Beckett back as a zombie or a merman. Then I'm satisfied.
Since OST came out, I think it's inevitable that there is going to be another trilogy, although I still personally think they wrapped things up nicely in AWE. I can't help but to compare my general reaction to the concept (had to throw that in, since I didn't *fully* see the movie) of OST to the possibility of a Toy Story 4. Why should there be one when the third movie was technically *the end*? Of course, there's the concept of making more money and rubbing it in the Haunted Mansion's face that Pirates was more successful than Eddie Murphy could ever have dreamed ofbut in a few years, Del Toro is going to kick their asses, but that's a completely different story in itself that I shall write an essay about much later.
Hnurr, this is enough of an essay, but I just wanted to state my opinion on the possibility of new Pirates sequels. Long story short, I'm a bit cautious about them, especially with how the fourth one turned out, but it would honestly depend on what they did with it.
